Tarte Tartelette Juicy Palette

tatre eyeshadow

The Tarte Tartelette Juicy Palette is from the bag I was given at the Sephora launch and I notice that they have quite a strong presence at Sephora. Previously, one of the few places you could get Tarte products was QVC and I never even think to watch that these days so I like the idea that the brand is more easily accessible.

It’s a slight surprise to discover that the colours are called clays because they contain Amazonian Clay – why? Wouldn’t that be better staying in the Amazon? It turns out to be sustainably sourced which I feel fine with and apparently it’s good to include in eyeshadows for anyone with oily lids because the clay element absorbs the oil. So, I do see why this might be a good thing although it may well be just marketing. The clay doesn’t seem to affect the textures – if anything, I was impressed at how smoothly they went on to my skin.

From left to right across the top: paradise, rose, orchid and dream chaser. Same across the second row: blossom, shine, petal and luscious. And the final row: reflect, happiness, dusk and euphoric. There are two stand out shades – dream chaser and dusk that I would wear in a heartbeat for a smoky look.
